A Rat’s Patoot

Just Sharing

I am a cat person, I am also a dog person, an animal person and a people person… However it is the first of those statements that often brings the most stereotypes or preconceived notions to mind…. So I am not going to give a “rat’s patoot,” and proceed with what is likely to be the first of many posts that are cat-centric… So cue the eye roll because here we go!
Non Sequitur Sept 23Recently I have noticed the wisdom inherent in cats, I am not the only one as the above comic so aptly demonstrates. I admire cats for many reasons, however the idea in this comic is one of the big reasons and I think a lesson we might all be able to learn from. Cat’s don’t appear to care about what anyone thinks of them, don’t seek approval, are totally okay with asking for what they want, and in general seem to only do what they want when they want to and won’t be forced or cajoled into acting before they deem fit. Why is this an important lesson for us as human’s to consider? How many times have we increased our misery by worrying about other’s opinions? How many times have we said “yes” to something when we really wanted to say no? How often do we stifle our desire to ask for something because we are afraid of being told no? So maybe not giving “a rat’s patoot what anyone thinks of you” is the secret to life.  And maybe if we chose to adopt a little “cattitude,” our lives might be a little freer,  a little less filled with worry, possibly even filled with more of what we want! I challenge you to think about this and maybe even be so daring as to try it out for a minute…
